http://newsela.com contains articles that are tagged to CCSS and are available in several different lexile reading levels for purposes of differentiation. Don't let the site name fool you, there is a whole section devoted to science articles!
http://tweentribune.com/ has current event articles targeted to different grade levels. Students are able to read the article and then take a comprehension quiz. Articles are also available in Spanish.
Both of these sites allow the teacher to set up classrooms to set up assignments and track student progress.
