English Language Arts Edcanvas Biography Project

I have been team teaching with Tracy Duarte at Talbot Innovation Middle School to blend technology and the term 4 ELA essential question “How can one person change the world ?” into an interactive Edcanvas Biography Project.
Grade 6 students read “Jackie Robinson, Justice at Last” and researched biographical information about Jackie Robinson to consider how he changed the world.  With their research, students authored a Bio-Poem to represent Mr. Robinson and created an original powerpoint using Google Presentation. Their objective was to educate others about how Jackie Robinson changed the world.  Students then created an Edcanvas media board to publish their own writing as well as upload various links and graphics to compliment their own work.

W 6.6  Use technology, including the internet, to produce and publish writing as well as to interact and collaborate with others.
