On May 23, 2013 Talbot Innovation Middle School will be hosting a live in-flight educational downlink with crew members aboard the International Space Station. A proposal written by Talbot Science teachers, Ben Squire and Stephen Kennedy resulted in Talbot becoming one of six middle schools in the country chosen by NASA to have their students ask live questions with the astronauts.
This downlink will be approximately 20 minutes in length and it will be aired live on NASA television and streamed live on the NASA website.
Sixth and seventh grade students at Talbot were chosen to represent their classes and they will be asking astronaut Chris Cassidy questions about space, science experiments and time away from home. Chris Cassidy is a native from Massachusetts and he is currently on his second mission on the International Space Station. He is schedule to be at the ISS for a six month time period. His father, Jack Cassidy will be joining us at Talbot for this event.
